Today I had a very interesting insight about how, by asking the right questions, you can influence someone’s thought process and believe system.

My mom was talking about her future and how she “had” to accomplish some things. I learned that the pattern of “having to” do things is very correlated with the sense of not having choices. Since, I know this I pause, listen really attentive and ask the question:

What specifically do you want to accomplish?

The response? She now said everything using want statements. For me it was a very insightful moment me.

So this experience gave birth to this article and the goal is to answer the question “What is the power of questions?“ to the best of my ability.

Brain Storming

The case being that there are many different types of questions. Each of them, causes a very different reaction on the other person. But something that All of them have in common is that they all move the person that has been asked.

The untrain mind, falls automatically in a distraction mode. why? their brains either creates an answer right away, creating an inner distraction, or generates some kind of emotion like curiosity or resistance towards the question.
